Purpose: To engage stakeholders in the backlog by making it more comprehensible and providing them with a business perspective that they recognise

This shows the backlog with  the 'Business dimension' (Components or Labels) along the top and the Time dimension (Versions ) down the left hand side.

Stakeholders can see where the effort went during October and just how many issues were completed for the Membership Launch.

The X axis can be toggled  between labels or components

The user can toggle between seeing the location of every item on the backlog or by representing them as Pie Charts.

This helps stakeholders see the where the team's effort is focused.

Clicking on a bubble  enables you to open the issue in JIRA

Interpreting the chart[edit]
You can quickly see where the effort in this project or stream of work has been spent and the focus in the future. In the 'bubble chart' view each bubble represents a PBI. The colour is the state and the size is proportional to the estimated effort.
In the chart below:
This the time dimension, showing iterations. This shows the work that has already been done, the current iteration and future plans.
The area paths or Tags are shown along the top. This is the business or stakeholder perspective on the backlog. It clearly shows where the focus of effort is in this product development
You can quickly see only those items in a given state by selecting the state button. The colour of the button corresponds to the colours in the chart
