Use this chart to...
- Help the team adjust its focus during a sprint and intervene if the sprint looks like it is going off track
- Increase awareness of the story burndown
- Most other burn-downs only show task burndown, meaning that the team might be unaware it is doing mini-waterfalls - where all the stories are completed on the last day of the sprint.
- It is better to be completing stories regularly through the sprint
What the chart shows...
- The burndown of tasks - typically measured in hours
- The burndown of stories - measured in points
- Click on the blobs on the lines to drill down and see details of the tasks or stories
Setting up the chart
- Choose the sprint
- Select the work-items (normally story and task)
